Best Chili Recipe for Tailgating the Big Game

Let’s hope this is the year for the Minnesota Vikings to go all the way & win the SuperBowl. They have no lack of fans, that’s for sure. If you’re planning to tailgate or host a football watching party, there isn’t anything better to fight the cold weather and enjoy football than a bowl of chili. Add it to a hot dog or brat for the ultimate football food!

This chili recipe has some very unique ingredients that really make it stand out. Don’t skip any of them.

Best Beer Chili Recipe

  • 2 pounds ground beef (salt and pepper while browning)
  • 1 onion chopped (brown with beef)
  • 3 cans of chili beans (in sauce)
  • 2 cans of kidney beans, navy beans, black beans, etc.
  • 2 cans of Rotel tomatoes
  • 1 large can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 large can of tomato soup
  • 3 ears of fresh sweet corn cut off the cob (you can use frozen, but recommend fresh if you can find it)
  • 2 chopped jalapeno peppers (reduce to one if you don’t like spicy chili)
  • 1 container washed/sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 bottle or can of beer (Grain Belt Nordeast works great)
  • 3 Tablespoons chili powder
  • 0ne bunch of cilantro, washed and finely chopped (add toward the end)

Heat and stir until all is hot, cooked, and flavored. Transfer to a crock pot to keep warm.
